+ I live in an apartment, can I use your service?
Absolutely! Lots of our clients are apartment dwellers. During the initial consultation we will discuss the best way to exchange dirties and cleans with you on delivery day.
+ Do I have to be home when you deliver diapers to me?
No, you do not need to be home. We request that you set your diapers outside and we will pick them up and replace them with cleans during your scheduled delivery window.
+ I'm not comfortable with diapers being left outside of my house, can I give you a key to my side alley or to my house?
If you are not comfortable leaving your diapers out and you have a gated side alleyway, you can give us a key. If you plan to leave your diapers just inside your front door, you can give us a key to keep on file, or you can give us the combination to a lockbox containing the key.
+ What if I forget to put my diapers out?
If you forget to set your diapers out and you realize quickly, call us right away at 1-844-2GO-CLOTH (1-844-246-2568) and if the driver is still close to your location, he/she will come back. If you have missed the delivery and the driver is already out of your area, you can either drop your dirties off at our location or you can request a re-delivery (a delivery surcharge will apply)
+ What time do you collect and deliver diapers?
Our delivery window is 8am-1pm all dirty diapers must be set outside by 8am. If you are not a morning person, we suggest setting your diapers out the night before.
+ What if I go on vacation?
Vacations are no problem! Simply notify us in advance (at least 48 hours) and we will put your account on hold. You can fill out a delay of service request here.
+ How can I find out if you deliver to my area?
The fastest way to do that is to send us an email with your zip code so we can check our delivery map. We are expanding all the time so chances are, if you live in the immediate Philly Metro Area, we've got you covered.
+ How does payment work?
We offer a 3 or 6 month pre-payment option or an automated bank draw option. You can choose to have your payments deducted weekly, bi-weekly or monthly according to what works best for your budget. If you choose the 6 month pre-payment plan, we offer a 5% discount. As always, there are no refunds on pre-paid service plans, so this option is best for those families who are certain they want to use cloth for the long haul.
Diaper Service Q & A
+ Isn't a cloth diaper service more expensive than disposables?
No. Our cloth diaper service is priced to be competitive with brand name diapers bought in your local grocery store. And, when you consider the many hidden costs of disposable diapering (gas, fluctuating prices, later potty training, and the incredible environmental cost) cloth is clearly the more affordable of the two options!
+ Help! I need more diapers! What do I do?
If it looks like you are going to need to increase the number of diapers you receive, let us know before delivery day and we will adjust your next bundle. If you have run out of diapers and need more before your next delivery day, call us, we can almost always get an emergency delivery out to you (additional delivery surcharge will apply).
+ My baby isn't due for a while, when should I sign up?
You can sign up as early as you like- we'll just keep the account on hold until the baby arrives.
+ How many diapers do you provide each week?
- Week 1: 80 diapers
- Week 2: 80 diapers
- Week 3: number of cleans delivered equals number of dirties returned week 2
- week 4: number of cleans delivered equals number of dirties returned week 3
+ Do you provide covers and a pail?
Diaper covers and Pails are available for purchase. Lots of folks like to use their own pail, or have received these items as a gift or as hand-me-downs, so we decided not to include them in the cost of service. This way, you only pay for what you actually need. Buying your own covers also means you have greater flexibility with what type of covers you use (covers vary greatly in terms of shape and sizing and do not fit all babies equally.) If you need all of the accessories necessary to get started (Pail, Covers, Snappis, Deo-Disc, Liners, Ointment, pail filter) We suggest that you purchase our starter kit- it's a great deal!
Cloth Diapers 101
+ Does cloth cause more diaper rash?
No! We've found, and studies have shown (check out the resources page!) that heat, wetness and extended exposure to urea and bacteria are the culprits that cause the dreaded diaper rash. Cloth diapers combat those issues in a few ways; increased air flow, more frequent changes and cooler temperatures cause by the more breathable fabric. Combine that with the chemical free materials (just take a look at what's inside a disposable diaper- yikes!) and you have a recipe for a very healthy bottom! If the occasional rash does occur, give a call, we can talk you through it and make some great recommendations for treatment and ointment options.
+ I'm ready to try washing diapers on my own, can you get me started?
We sure can! We love helping families choose cloth! We have information available about how to wash and care for your own diapers. Simply contact usand we'll email it right to you.
+ I'm not sure about cloth, can I just start on a trial basis?
Sure! Just sign up for one month. If you decide it's not for you, you can cancel before your second month begins.
